ColoradoJam
A DAO-funded incubator pairing blockchain startups with Colorado state government
The idea
Governments want to pilot emerging technology but can rarely fund speculative experiments. Startups want government references but can't survive procurement timelines. ColoradoJam bridged the two: an incubator, privately funded by the Bufficorn Ventures DAO, that pairs blockchain and Web3 teams with Colorado state government to fund and launch pilots.
My role
I helped create ColoradoJam while at the Governor's Office of Information Technology, working across the Governor's office and state departments to make government a willing pilot partner. After moving to Bufficorn Ventures as Investment Steward, I managed the program from the funding side: evaluating teams, structuring pilots, and acting as the liaison between government and private industry.
Why it's unusual
It is one of the few programs anywhere funded by a DAO to run government technology pilots, and it demonstrated a repeatable model for public-private experimentation without taxpayer risk.
